REV. DENISE HYLTON, B.S.,M.S.C:
 In 2004, Rev. Hylton accompanied Rev. Amen-Ra to the United Nations participating in the 13th Sustainable Development Forum where she represented FIAAH on the Women’s Caucus Drafting Committee and the Southern Diaspora Workgroup Committee focused on developing sustainable development projects in North and South America. She also participated in the United Nations Permanent Forum for Indigenous People held in June where she presented intervention an on the Health Status of Descendants of Anasazi Indians (Negroes) in America. She is committed to implementing a National Health Action Agenda to educate Indigenous Black Americans and address ethnogenocide of our people.
Rev. Denise Hylton has over 20 years experience as a community health and human services program manager and consultant specializing in agency development, non-profit organizational management, program development and resource/fund development. Rev. Hylton has a solid record of accomplishments working with a variety of health and human services agencies, business, institutional and community based organizations in New York City. In various capacities she has held positions with increasing responsibilities as: Chief Operating Officer, Caribbean Women’s Health Association, Co-Founder/Executive Director, Birth Choices Inc. She has also served as: Project Director, Program Director, Program Coordinator, Program Associate, Research Associate, Trainer, and Consultant. Since 1984, Denise's expertise in the area of proposal/grantwriting has enabled her to raise over 2.5 million dollars for community based organizations.
Rev. Hylton has extensive expertise in the areas of Health & Human Services Program Development including: Women's Health Education, Community Health Education, Indigenous Health Issues, Developmental Disabilities, Early Intervention, Child Day Care, HIV/AIDS Education, Complementary & Integrative Healing Modalities, Case Management, Immigration, Women/Family Empowerment Issues, Birthing Center Development, and Staff Development Training and Board Training.
She holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Administration and a Minister of Spiritual Counseling degree from the New Seminary. Rev. Hylton was a 1988/89 Fellow with the N.Y.S. Office of Mental Retardation and Development Disabilities, Minority Professional Development Institute where she received certification in Residential and Day Program Services and Agency Development. She is the former Director of the Women Empowerment Training Institute (WEI), a non-profit women's empowerment training program designed to assist women with personal growth and transformation. She was also the Executive Director and co-founder of Birth Choices Inc., a non-profit women’s health organization which focused on educating the public about the importance of midwives as traditional healers and offering workshops and seminars on alternative and complementary healing modalities to the Brooklyn community. Since 2000, she has served as former President and Board member of the Respite Foundation, non-profit organization offering stress management, behavior modification and sensory therapies for special needs children using alternative and complementary healing modalities and currently serves as Program Director.
Rev. Denise Hylton is a licensed, ordained Interfaith Minister and a Shamanic Sound Healer. She is a Traditional Reiki Master; Acutonics Sound Therapist certified in Hypnotherapy, Past Life Regression, Kita Sound Therapy and LaStone Therapy. Her skills in program development, psycho-spiritual counseling, human relations, personal development, organizational development and management, have afforded her the opportunity to create and conduct training workshops for a variety of organizations. She is developing a model for an Indigenous Healing Center focused on documenting the efficacy of indigenous medicine and healing modalities.
